On June 19th, we celebrate the 159th Anniversary of the end of slavery in 1865 in the United States, which is known today as Juneteenth. It is a combination of the month of  'June' and the 'nineteenth' day that commemorates the happy news of newly-freed slaves in Texas at the end of the Civil War.

Please be advised of the latest newsletter as Chartwells continues to serve up happy and healthy meals throughout the Union City School District. We have been continuing to integrate Jersey Fresh fruits and vegetables into the schools in creative ways while increasing student interest in trying new foods. Join us for a memorable performance of "The Music Man Jr." at the Veterans' Memorial Elementary School on Thursday & Friday Evening at 7:00pm as the students tell the story of a traveling salesman, his 76 trombones and the town that got caught up in the music!
